Prayer“They all joined together constantly in prayer” (Acts 1:14)

Prayer is at the heart of St. John’s. Prayer is vital to everything we do as a church and as disciples. Please see the monthly prayer diary (below) as a resource for your personal prayers.

The foundation of our corporate prayer activity is our prayer and worship meetings where we pray for the ministry of the church, the people of Burscough, our region and the nation(s).  Engage is at the heart of our prayer life.

As a church family, we meet together at the following times to wait, listen, intercede and thank the Lord together.  We look forward to seeing you.

Monday 7.00-8.00pm

Come and meet for a hymn and a time of prayer together in the vestry.  Please enter by the vestry door. (Please note that Engage replaces this time of prayer on the 4th Monday.)

Wednesday 9.15 – 9.45am

A time of informal and creative prayer together mid-week in church. Please enter by the main church doors.

Thursday 7.00 – 7.30 am

Begin the day together as we wait and pray together for the parish and wider issues in our world. Please enter by the main church doors.

Engage Prayer MeetingENGAGE

On the 4th Monday of every month, the whole church is invited to gather for a time of creative prayer (8:00-9:00pm) in church.  Incorporating times of worship, silence, reflection and creativity, we gather to wait upon the Lord and pray in a variety of ways individually and in small groups.

Come open and expectant as we gather to pray together.

Prayer Letters

Each month we publish a prayer letter with many of the prayer points we would like to concentrate on.  The Prayer Letters are available here for you to join in with us.
