Technical Team (Team Member-Projection Preparation)

To collect and prepare all materials that will be projected during forthcoming services such as the service structure, songs, PowerPoints, DVD's etc. To set up resources on the projection computer so that they are ready for projection by the projection operator.

Responsible To: Technical Coordinator (Phil Marshall)
Time Committment: One hour, each Friday morning
As part of this role a volunteer would have the following responsibilities:
  • Talk to all service participants prior to the forthcoming services to find out what will require projection
  • Load any material required for these services onto the projection computer
  • Check that anything that is going to be projected is suitable eg fits on the screen, font size is large enough to be read easily, problems encountered are put right or reported to the the Technical Coordinator and/or service leader
  • Create material, such as song words or service liturgy where it doesn't already exist on the system

A volunteer in this role would require some or all of the following attributes:
  • Good general computer skills, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An 'eye for detail' in spotting problems, such as spelling mistakes, missing words, and items not fitting on the screen
  • Reliable

In order for someone to be able to perform this role the following training and support will be given:
  • Initial training and ongoing support provided by the Technical Coordinator (Phil Marshall)
  • More in-depth training is provided on the software that is used as the operator becomes more confident
