Ministries

As a church we desire to equip, teach, train and encourage all those who attend St. John’s , wherever they are in their relationship with God.

Everyone is encouraged to be part of a housegroup and enjoy sharing in ministry as a volunteer in one of our many teams.  In addition, the following ministries are offered:

Chat over Coffee & Tea

Chat over Coffee & TeaOpen for a chat and reviving cuppa, the coffee bar is open weekday mornings from 10-11.30am in the West End of church.  The church is also open at this time for quiet prayer.

Ethical

Fair TradeSt John’s is a Fair Trade church.  As far as possible, we try to ensure that our suppliers are paid a fair price for their goods and we serve fairly traded coffee and tea after our church services and mid-week in our coffee bar.

The Fair Trade Stall offers an opportunity for anyone who comes to the church to buy goods – tea, coffee, chocolate and store cupboard goodies - once a month on the second Sunday.  When the opportunity arises, we offer a Fair Trade Stall at local events to raise awareness and generate income for the suppliers.

If you would like further information, please contact Liz Hawksby via the Church Office.

Lunch Aid

Lunch AidOnce a month after the 11am Sunday service, we meet for a simple lunch and friendship in a home.  Everyone is invited to make a contribution which is donated at the end of the year to a charity working to meet needs in developing countries (eg Tear Fund, Water Aid, Haiti earthquake appeal.)

For more information, please contact Sandra McCall via the Church Office.
